Yes, we offer custom saunas to suit your space, style, and wellness goals. We can work with you on sauna size, timber selection, layout, and design features to create a sauna that fits your home or outdoor area.
The main difference is how the heat is produced. An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to warm the body directly, while a traditional sauna heats the air inside the room to create a hotter, more intense sauna environment.
The daily running cost of a sauna is typically between $0.80 and $2 per day for regular use. Tasman Saunas are designed with high-quality insulation and efficient construction to help keep operating costs low.
All Tasman Saunas are supplied flat-packed as a kitset, which makes delivery easier and more cost-effective across New Zealand. Our flat-pack saunas are designed for straightforward home installation.
Yes, all of our traditional saunas require a hardwired power supply and should be installed by a licensed electrician for safety and performance. Our infrared saunas use a 10-amp plug and do not require an electrician.
The best outdoor sauna size for a backyard depends on your available space and how many people will use it regularly. For most homes, 2-person outdoor saunas and 4-person outdoor saunas are the most popular options because they balance comfort, footprint, and heating efficiency.
Yes, Tasman Saunas can supply Canadian Red Cedar saunas on request. Canadian Red Cedar is a popular sauna timber because of its natural aroma, durability, and premium finish. Cedar upgrades are priced by model.
Most saunas take around 30 to 45 minutes to heat up to the desired temperature. Exact heat-up time depends on the sauna type, size, outdoor conditions, and heating system.
The best place to install an outdoor sauna is on a level, well-drained surface with good access to power, privacy, and safe entry. Our team can advise on the ideal position in your backyard or garden based on available space, accessibility, and how you plan to use the sauna.
Our traditional saunas can reach temperatures of up to 90°C, with easy-to-use controls and reliable heat retention in outdoor conditions. Our infrared saunas can reach temperatures of up to 70°C.
